Ipsolon Research Inc. Receives 2023 Hire Vets Medallion Award from The U.S. Department of Labor

U.S. Acting Secretary of Labor Julie A. Su recognized Ipsolon Research Inc. as one of the 859 recipients of the 2023 HIRE Vets Medallion Award during a virtual award ceremony presented by U.S. Department of Labor.  Ipsolon Research Inc. earned the gold award after applying earlier this year. The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans.

“Ipsolon Research is very proud to accept this award and prioritizes veteran hiring and development,” said CEO John Shanton.

Ipsolon Research joins 858 other companies from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, who have shown a commitment to hiring veterans, but also ensuring that they have a long-term career and growth plan that uses the diverse skills they acquired through their military service.

Recipients of the 2023 HIRE Vets Medallion Award meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages; availability of veteran-specific resources; leadership programming for veterans; dedicated human resource efforts; pay compensation and tuition assistance programs for veterans. More than 1,600 employers have earned a HIRE Vets Medallion Award since 2018.

The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is earned by businesses that demonstrate unparalleled commitment to attracting, hiring and retaining veterans. The 2023 HIRE Vets Medallion Award application period will open to employers on Jan. 31, 2024. For more information about the program and the application process, visit HIREVets.gov.

There are different awards for large employers (500-plus employees), medium employers (51-499 employees), and small employers (50 or fewer employees). Additionally, there are two award tiers: platinum and gold.

Ipsolon Research wins Phase 2 Expansion contract with Navy

Frederick, MD – The United States Navy has selected Ipsolon Research’s SBIR for an Expansion to their current Phase 2 contract after a successful demonstration of its Deep Learning (DL) techniques.

“We used DL techniques to replace or extend the PDW-based approach to radar signal detection”, explained Ipsolon Research CEO, John Shanton.

Deep learning (DL) algorithms are a form of Machine Learning (ML) that use neural network (NN) architectures to process data and predict the presence of data patterns often called prediction or inference.

The specific goal of this project is to develop a deployable electronic sensor optimized to use ML techniques for real-time detection of radar signals and other signals of interest.

“The Phase 2 results demonstrated that ML is a viable method for detection of known radar signal types in a size, weight and power (SWAP) optimized 500 teraOPS AI compute engine,” Shanton said.

Ipsolon Research Shares SDR With Hundreds At 2022 SOFIC

Ipsolon Research Becomes Corporate Members of DIFI Consortium

Frederick, MD – Ipsolon Research is pleased to announce its membership in the Digital Intermediate Frequency Interoperability (DIFI) Consortium. Members of the DIFI Consortium collectively support innovation and the digital transformation of space, satellite, and related network technologies through the development of industry interoperability standards.
